Just before reaching the white building, take the track that branches to the left at map ref 205464 and within 100 yards look out for a path that goes off to the left. This is the second must-look-out-for point. Although the path – an old drove road to Peebles – is signposted, it would be all too easy to keep on strolling up the track. The well-made path is perhaps the prettiest part of the walk.
